    Start the Google Meet call in your browser

    Any browser, any account — free Gmail works. Call Recorder doesn't need access to Meet itself.

    Click record in the menubar

    Press ⌘R or click the record icon. Call Recorder captures the browser tab's audio (everyone in the meeting) plus your mic.

    Stop and transcribe

    Stop the recording when the call ends. Both sides land in a single .m4a in ~/Recordings/CallRecorder/, ready to transcribe locally.

Does Google Meet's built-in recording work on the free plan?+

No — it requires a paid Workspace Business Standard or higher plan, and only the host can start it. Call Recorder has no such restriction.

Will other Meet participants see a recording indicator?+

No. The OS-level audio capture is invisible to Meet. You remain responsible for complying with your local recording-consent law.

Does it work with Meet's breakout rooms?+

Yes — whatever audio is playing in your browser tab is captured, including breakout-room audio once you've joined one.

Can I transcribe an existing Meet recording from Drive?+

Yes. Download the recording from Drive (.mp4) and drag it onto Call Recorder's transcription window — same on-device pipeline.
